With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Gary DeWayne Bowman (Wichita, Kansas), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Though Gary DeWayne may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Gary DeWayne touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayland Bowman and Margaret Bowman (Madison); and his wife Marlene (Cyphers). He is survived by: his children, Becky Hundley (David) and Michael Bowman; his grandchildren, Benjamin Hundley (Elizabeth) and Margaret Hundley; and his great grandchildren, Emerson, Eden and Callum Hundley.

“Gary lived down the road from us and for about 5 years back in the mid 1990s, he helped us put a 1500 square feet addition on the original bungalow. He had an old work truck and we could hear him turn the corner at Logan Avenue and South Commercial late afternoons. He would go home for a bite to eat and if it worked out, he would come in the evening and work for a little while. Always a smile and a sense of humor. A true craftsman who took pride in his work. Rip Bowman”

“Gary was a customer at the pharmacy where I worked and he became a good friend. He was the rare customer who was always always smiling and he brought happiness to those fortunate enough to interact with him on a regular basis. I left that job 6 years ago, but continued our friendship regularly over a Coke or milkshake at Braum's several times a year. I will miss him and our visits. My thoughts go out to his family.”
