He was predeceased by: his mother Hap (Harold); his sister Carolyn Scala; his wife Marilyn Joyce Blome of Illinois; and his son David. He is survived by: his daughters, Karen, Lynn (Pat) and Susan (Ted); his daughter-in-law Carisa; and his siblings, Bernie (Gail) and Marilyn Bonnett. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many caring extended family.
