James Sherman Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on May 13, 2026, at the age of 64, James Sherman of Wichita, Kansas, born in Eureka, Kansas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the sacred silence of farewell, James is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that James' spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.

He was predeceased by: his mother Greta Sherman Bachelder; and his brother-in-law Herbert Fife. He is survived by: his father Edwin Sherman of Toronto; his partner Kevin Smith of Wichita; his sister Nancy Fife-Eagle (Kevin) of Virgil; his nephew Nathan Fife of Toronto, KS; his niece Elizabeth Stockebrand (Michael) of Yates Center, KS.; his close friend Jackie Billings; and his pet Stevie. He is also survived by many cousins, a great niece and three great nephews.

The family suggests memorials to the Harry Hynes Hospice of Wichita.
