He was predeceased by: his parents, Dwight Bruner and Ruby Bruner; his wife Emily Brooke of Sedan; and his siblings, Merle Gene (Brub), Jack and Peggie McAfee.
He is survived by: his children, Susan Owens of Broken Arrow, Brad (Amanda Bruner) of Wichita, Kansas and Greg (Carolyn Bruner) of Topeka, Kansas; his siblings, Bill (Lydia Bruner) and Karen Peppard; and his cousin Don (Claudell Bruner).
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials to the Sedan High Schools Athletics.
