He was predeceased by: his father Brian Barthelme; and his stepfather Bob Lavelle. He is survived by: his mother Lucy Lavelle of Wichita, KS; his wife Elizabeth Barthelme of Hesston, KS; his children, Danielle Barthelme and Paul Barthelme; his brothers, Luke Barthelme (Kelly) and Matt Barthelme (Erin); his parents-in-law, Gerhard and Vonnie Fast; his stepmother Samantha Barthelme; his stepsiblings, Kellie Lavelle, Joe Lavelle, Pat Lavelle and Nick Lavelle (Megan); and his brother-in-law Aron Fast (Annie). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorials have been established with: Valley Hope Foundation, P. O. Box 59, Norton, Kansas 67654 and St. Joseph Catholic Church, 132 South Millwood, Wichita, Kansas 67213. The family greatly appreciates donations made to these charities in John F. Barthelme 's name.
