He was predeceased by: his parents, John Koppenhaver and Ruth Moyer Koppenhaver; his son Todd Koppenhaver; and his brothers, Denny Koppenhaver, Ron Koppenhaver and Terry Koppenhaver.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Koppenhaver of Wichita, KS; his children, Robin Myers of Wichita, KS, Lisa Capps of Wichita, KS and John Koppenhaver (Shelley Anderson) of Wichita, KS; his daughter-in-law Mukwaya Koppenhaver; and his stepchildren, Benton Bates (Amanda) and Jocelyn Bates of Kansas City. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
