He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret Reed (Ward); his parents, John "Rich" Reed and Nora Reed (Hilburn); and his siblings, Leamon Reed (Violet), Edward Reed (Mary), Arthur Reed (Louvenia), Leatha Griffith (Cecil) and Loveta Dulaney (Buford).
He is survived by: his children, Nora Reilley (Kent), Kathy Reed, Patti Akin (Craig) and John Reed (Mary); his grandchildren, Reverend Patrick Reilley, Erica Reed, Jeff Reilley (Dani), Danielle Ritzman (Erik), Jacquelyn Reed, Katie Pike (Nathaniel), Alyssa Dennis (Josh), Matthew Reilley (Allison Turner), Kristin Carrubba (Micah), Sean Kirsch (Humaira), Elisabeth Akin (Logan Elrod) and Jenna Reed (Mason Goodroe); and his pet Sammy. He is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
