He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Roper and Frances Roper (Owens); his former wife Lois I. Roper; his wife Ann Roper (Ocker); his son Gary Baucom; his grandson DJ Epperson III; and his siblings, Edward Frank and Verna Mae "Joy" Ardery (Roper).
He is survived by: his children, Lisa Epperson, Glenna Woodard, Kathryn Love-Hoffman, Sheila Dooley, Mary Mitchell, Stacey Roper, Larry Baucom and Steve Ocker; his niece Roxanne Hiner; his nephew Robert Ardery; Don Epperson II and Curtis Mitchell. He is also survived by his 26 grandchildren; many great and great-great-grandchildren.
