With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lila Sue Van Valkenburgh McAllister (Wichita, Kansas), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 14, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her former husband Fredrick Joseph Van Valkenburgh; her parents, Ora Tweedy and Estella Tweedy; and her brothers, William and Eugene Tweedy.
She is survived by: her husband Robert McAllister; her children, William "Bill" Szolek-Van (Julie), Mark Van Valkenburgh, Lisa Rose (David) and Susan Singh; and her stepsons, Steve McAllister (Rhonda) and Mike McAllister. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Calvary United Methodist Church (2525 N Rock Rd, Wichita, KS 67226). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with: GraceMed, 1150 N. Broadway, Wichita, KS 67214. The family greatly appreciates donations made to these charities in Lila Sue Van Valkenburgh McAllister 's name.
