She was predeceased by: her husband Edward George Sommers; her parents, Frank Vetter and Mary Vetter; and her sister Barbara O'Sullivan. She is survived by: her children, Mary Grant (Stephen) of Lawrence, KS, Stephen Sommers (Ruth) of Sheridan, WY, John Sommers (Jane) of McPherson, KS and Matthew Sommers (Mary) of Red Lodge, MT. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
A rosary will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Downing & Lahey East Mortuary (6555 E Central Ave, Wichita, KS 67206). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church (124 N Roosevelt St, Wichita, KS 67208).
A memorial has been established with: Good Shepherd Hospice, 7829 E. Rockhill St. #403, Wichita, KS 67206. The family greatly appreciates donations made to these charities in Lorraine F. Sommers 's name.
