Mark William Mundy Obituary
Mark William Mundy, age 70, passed away on December 26, 2025, in Wichita, Kansas.
Mark was born November 19th, 1955 to Merle and Margaret Mundy. Mark was a man who embodied old-school values—genuine, hardworking, and full of humor. He worked diligently as a butcher at a local meat packing plant, then later in life proudly retired from UPS after 28 years of dedicated service, a career he took great pride in and one that reflected his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his family.
Known for his wit and ability to make people laugh, Mark's presence brought comfort to those around him. In his younger years, Mark was an avid wrestler with many awards and a dedicated Boy Scout. He found joy in collecting southwestern decor and learning knowledge about the Native culture. In his retired years, Mark enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, especially fishing, watching NASCAR, playing spades on his phone, and spending countless hours watching videos on YouTube. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his beloved cat, Nascar, who was always close by.
Mark was deeply grateful to God, and his faith was an important part of his life. He carried that gratitude in his heart and trusted in God's plan, finding peace in knowing where his true home was.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly Mundy; his daughters, Melanie Mundy, Melinda Mundy, Mindy Prose, and Ashlynn Bruno; his brothers, Merle Newton Mundy Jr. and Estes Turner; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him endless joy.
Mark will be remembered for his humor, authenticity, strong values, and unwavering love for his family. While we grieve his passing, we take comfort in the promise of eternal life through Christ, knowing that Mark is now at peace, resting in the arms of the Lord, reunited with loved ones who went before him. His faith assures us that this goodbye is not the end, but a joyful reunion to come.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 5, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Cochran Mortuary, located at 1411 N. Broadway, Wichita, KS 67214.
