We announce the death of Sarah Picking in Wichita, Kansas, born in Republic, Kansas, who passed away on July 16, 2026, at the age of 86. Sarah will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lee Daughterty and Elda Daughterty; her husband Max Picking; her son Mark Picking; and her siblings, Jimmy, Marion, Morris Daugherty, Dorothy Dahl and Marjorie Sleisher.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sheryl Linn (Ron) and Sonya Jones (Eric); her siblings, Ronald Daugherty, Charlene Tucker and Arlene Bogle; Deb Picking.
The family suggests memorials be given to the Abilene Senior Center, Meals on Wheels or to the Abilene Community Foundation of Dickinson County.
