He was predeceased by: his father Fred Twietmeyer; his stepfather Bill Perry; and his nephew Spencer Gallagher. He is survived by: his mother Sharon Mae Perry; his children, Libby Rivera (Marcus) of Wichita and Charles Durst Twietmeyer of Wichita, KS; his grandchildren, Scott D. Twietmeyer and Leighton M. Twietmeyer; his sister Cynthia "Cyndi" Gallagher (Steve) of Overland Park, KS; his nephew Dr. Creighton Gallagher; and his pet Dallas.

A memorial has been established with the Spencer Patrick Gallagher Memorial Scholarship c/o Kansas State University Foundation, 1800 Kimball Ave. #200, Manhattan, KS 66502.
