She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles William and Harriet Roop (Penney); her husband Wayland Gardner; and her sisters, Martha "Marty" Craig and Patricia Castle.
She is survived by: her daughters, Martha, Patricia and Suzanne; her stepgrandchildren, Allie Gardner, Rachel Hausmann (Collin Irwin), Wayland R. Gardner (Sabrina Blankenship), Sarah Rabinowitz (Jonah), Grey Gardner and Ingrid Gardner; her daughter Sue; her cousins, Kathy and Bill Barber; her children, Wayland, Jan Isaacs (Neil), Elaine Hausmann (Barry), Ed Gardner (Natalie) and Jim Gardner (Joy); her grandchildren, Allie Gardner, Rachel Hausmann (Collin Irwin), Wayland R. Gardner (Sabrina Blankenship), Sarah Rabinowitz (Jonah), Grey Gardner and Ingrid Gardner; Conan Castle and Wayland Gardner. She is also survived by one great grandchild on the way, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 at 2:30 PM at 1700 Bronson Way, Kalamazoo, MI 49009.
