He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Thornbrugh; his children, Richard "Rich" Thornbrugh (Denise) of Princeton, Kansas and Kitti Weigand of Pomona, Kansas.; his granddaughters, Amanda Hoyt (Jeffrey) of Pomona, Amy Wiscombe (Jayson) of Pomona and Ashley "Bud" Orear (Tyson) of Allen, Kansas.; his great grandchildren, Kristen Brightwell (Tommy), Colton Hoyt, Jayden Wiscombe, Jo Wiscombe, Virgil Orear and Jenny Orear; his great great grandchildren, Ava Brightwell and Andie Brightwell; and his sisters-in-law, Virginia "Ginny" Perkins of Topeka and Kathy Warren (Brad) of Topeka.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Williamsburg Community Center (126 W William St, Williamsburg, KS 66095).
