With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Alice Jo Macek of Wilson, Kansas, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Josie Doubrava (Brejcha) and Frank W. Doubrava Jr.; her husband Joseph Macek Jr.; her siblings, Alfred Doubrava, LouElla Thompson (Ken), Delores Hinde (William) and Irene Urbanek (Clifford); and her sisters-in-law, Bernadine Bachman (Gail), Joan Malir and Marilyn Mattas.
She is survived by: her children, Jerry Macek (Sandy) of Wilson and Ramona Macek (Kathy Osborne) of Topeka; her sister Rose Small (Bob) of Lyons; her grandchildren, Joe Macek, Amber Kepka (Corry), Joshua Pekar (Laura) and Courtney Smith (Ryan); her stepchildren, Rick Malir (Bonnie Coley) of Dublin, Ohio and Nancy Malir (Alexandria Virginia); her brothers-in-law, Ken Malir and Rich Mattas; her close friend Michael Macek; and also Nike. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home (610 24th St, Wilson, KS 67490). A rosary was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Wencelaus Catholic Church (2811 Ave D, Wilson, KS 67490).
