He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Vargas and Angelina Vargas (Sierra); his sons, Paul, Carlos and Tommy Vargas; his siblings, Manuel Vargas, Jay Vargas, Ray Vargas, Reuben Perez, Mary Perez, Tommie Reyes, Benita Del Toro, Marina Navarrette, Ester Zanderholm, Richard Perez and David Perez; his grandsons, Michael Vargas and Troy Vargas; and his great grandchild Brock Jeffries.
He is survived by: his children, Richard Vargas, Mike Vargas (Renee) and Mary Green (Norman); his stepdaughter Nina Smith; and his sister Jenny Cuellar. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial has been established in Cruz's name for Holy Name Catholic Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
