He was predeceased by: his father Nelson Mark; and his sister Faith Michelle Wells. He is survived by: his mother Ramona Rae Dutton (Hatch); his wife Jessica James; his daughter Katelyn "Kat" Dutton; his brother David Dutton; his brother-in-law Eric Wells; and his parents-in-law, Guadalupe Rivera and Wylie James III.

Donnie owned and operated Blossoming Lotus, and his business idea blossomed during the pandemic, he wire-wrapped crystal jewelry and enjoyed making and selling his art.

Memorials in his name may be made to the Katelyn Dutton scholarship fund at RCB Bank and left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home.
