He was predeceased by: his parents, William H. Vaden and Wilma L. Vaden (Dillon); his close friend Linda Patton; his grandson Colton; and his siblings, Clay, Cliff, Dan, Don and Hazel McKnight.
He is survived by: his children, Chris Vaden of Arkansas City, Scott Vaden of Maple City, Theresa Day of Arkansas City and Cory Vaden (Lori) of Winfield; his stepchildren, Shawn Peterson of Larned, KS and Shannon Peterson of Olathe, KS; his siblings, Jim Vaden of Maple City, Marilyn Smith (Pooch) of Minneapolis, KS, Lonnie Vaden (Tammy) of Ulysses, KS, Les Vaden of Winfield, Karen Wilkie (Bart) of Ulysses, KS and Barb Young of Texas; his grandchildren, Wes, Derek and Jordan; and his siblings, Hannah, Elyssa, Kane and Kristin. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. Contributions may be made through the church or funeral home.
