James A. Bowman Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James A. Bowman of Winfield, Kansas, who passed away on February 10, 2026, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Bowman and Dollie Bowman (Broce); his wife Marilyn Jane Pappan (Plush); his siblings, Phyllis Roth and John Bowman; and his grandson Michael Vargas.
He is survived by: his former wife Sharon R. Phillips; his children, Reneé, Mike Vargas of Winfield, Michael, Cathy Bowman of Winfield and Wes Pappan of Kaw City, OK; his sister Shirley Booe (Jimmie) of Winfield; his grandchildren, Nick Vargas (Shannon), Joe Vargas (Aubree), Derek Bowman (Nicole), Caitlin Overbey (Michael), Dylan Bowman, Katy Marshall (Andy) and J. C. Pappan (Rylie); and his great grandchildren, Damon, Rylee, Ayven, Ashur, Jordee Vargas, Jensen, Caleb, Ethan Bowman, Idabelle Marshall and Lyrik Pappan. He is also survived by his kids', grandkids', and great grandkids.
A memorial has been established in Jim's name for the K&O Steam & Gas Engine Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
