James Mitchell Hays III Obituary
We are sad to announce that on May 24, 2025, at the age of 80, James Mitchell Hays III of Winfield, Kansas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Mitchell Monroe Hays Jr. and Margaret Janice Hays (Ely). He is survived by: his spouse Gene Anne Kelley; his children, Loron Hays (Bobbie) and Alyssa Hill (Mike); his sister Marilyn Strong (Mike); his nephew Jeff Strong; his niece Emily Strong; his grandson Steen Hays; and his great-niece Olivia Strong.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Shelley Family Funeral Home (803 Loomis St, Winfield, KS 67156). A graveside service was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Union-Graham Cemetery (443 N Michigan St, Winfield, KS 67156).
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cowley County Humane Society; donations may be left in the care of the funeral home.
