He is survived by: his wife Nora Engel; his children, Charlotte Barten (Jim) of Woodbine, Kevin (Teresa) of Manhattan, Darrell (Kay) of Hays and Brian (Carrie) of Woodbine; his grandchildren, Jaycelyn Walker (Taylor), Anna Pachta (Ryan), Jordyn Ross (Quinten), Jaryth Barten, Ethan Shippy, Jessyka Barten (Anders Mikkelson), McKenzie Shippy, Wyatt Shippy (Tristyn), Claire Shippy and Katelyn Shippy; and his great grandchildren, Ridley Walker, Nina Pachta and Kollin Shippy.

Memorial contributions may be made to Home Health and Hospice of Dickinson County or Woodbine United Methodist Church.
