He was predeceased by : his parents, Ted Schafer and Alma Webster Schafer; and his brothers, Lee, Jack and Gene Schafer.

He is survived by : his wife Judy Cole Schafer; his son Brent Schafer (April); and his grandchildren, Taylor Schafer (Woody Lincoln), Alli Yeary (Dan), Lauren Schafer and Brendon Crowell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Grants Lick Baptist Church at 941 Clay Ridge Rd, Alexandria, KY 41001.
