As Steven departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Steven may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Steven leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Blackshear and Shirley Hastings Blackshear; and his sister Diane Skaggs. He is survived by: his wife Laureen Degner Blackshear; his children, Kayla Smith (Michael) of Golo and Jason Blackshear (Heather) of Hickory; and his stepchildren, Heather Watwood (Steven) of Paducah and Roger Christen of Paducah. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
