Nanita Cassady Cates Obituary
We are sad to announce that on May 12, 2025, at the age of 90, Nanita Cassady Cates (Alvaton, Kentucky), born in Greenville, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Joseph Alvin Cates; her children, Bonnie Nicks (Frank), Ross Cates, Patti Grady (Mark) and JoAnn Powell (Terry); her grandchildren, Hannah Nicks, Riley Crabb (Justin), Jacob Nicks (Laura), Terence Powell and Cassady Powell; and her great grandchildren, Kyran Nicks, Jacob Crabb, Tyler Crabb, Nora Nicks and Bo Alvin Nicks.
Whether teaching them to paint, cheering at ballgames, playing Canasta, trick or treating up and down the street hand in hand, or playing tic-tac-toe through a glass door during COVID, she cherished every moment spent with her family.
