He was predeceased by: his parents, Owen Robertson Farris and Mary Lydia Wilson Farris; his brothers, David Robertson Farris and Gregory Ray Farris; his daughter-in-law Kimberly Dean Farris; and his siblings' children, Lori Ann Vonderheide and Dean Vonderheide.
He is survived by: his wife Roberta Barnett "Bobbie" Farris of Ashland; his children, James Robert Farris of Ashland, Joseph Donald Farris of Ashland, Lisa Dawn Farris (Patrick Heffernan) of Ashland and Joey Danielle Farris Toney (John) of Lexington, Kentucky; his grandchild Frankie "Sam" Farris of Ashland; his siblings-in-law, Deana Vonderheide (William "Buck") of Catlettsburg, Phyllis Farris of Ashland, Haskell "Buddy" Barnett (Brenda) of Ashland and James R. "Rick" Barnett of Ashland; and his close friend Gary Walters of Lexington. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and a host of dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel (3409 13th St, Ashland, KY 41102). A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East (100 Veterans Mem Dr, Argillite, KY 41143).
