He was predeceased by: his mother Marjorie L. Oaks Maxwell Hemmerling; his stepfather William J. Hemmerling; his father Robert Maxwell; and his half-brother Scott A. Maxwell. He is survived by: his close friends, Nell Busse, Jim, Linda Turner, Chris A. Smith, Joseph and Tereasa Schueckler. He is also survived by children, he had nine special sons and daughters.

Don requested that donations be made to Calvary Episcopal Church or Boyd County Animal Shelter.
