He was predeceased by: his parents, Thurmond Donald Rice and Mary Elizabeth Rice; his son Mark Allen Rice; and his brother David Rice. He is survived by: his children, Shawn Rice and Noelle Tamlyn; his sister Sandy Nicely; and his grandchildren, Elijah Rice, Miranda Tamlyn and Stephen Tamlyn.
