With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorothy Porter (Dottie) Ellington of Ashland, Kentucky, who passed away on January 14, 2023 at the age of 98. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Dorothy Porter (Dottie) Ellington to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her husband James Ellington of Ashland. She is survived by: her sons, Glen (BJ) of Burnsville, NC, Jim (Meagan) and Midlothian; her granddaughters, Hannah, Sarah and Terri; her niece Cheryl Spears (Ed); and her great grandchild Porter.
The last five years found her at Morning Pointe Assisted Living Center where the caring staff not only made sure to have her "special" salad at lunch but also put a piano in her room during the pandemic so she could continue to "tickle the ivories".
There will be a private family service later this week and they request in lieu of flowers that any donations be made to CornerStone Methodist Church in Ashland.
