He is survived by: his sons, Robert Monk of Sanibel and Rick Monk of Russell; his grandson Chris Monk; and his great grandchild Taylor Gibson.
During his lifelong commitment to Ashland, Edward served on numerous boards and in numerous organizations including the King's Daughters' Health Foundation, the El Hasa Clown Unit, and the Board of Zoning Adjustment.
