He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Borders and Ava Weis Borders Geyer; and his brothers, David Borders, Joel Borders and John Borders.

He is survived by: his son Jason D. Borders (Jennifer) of St. Cloud, FL; his niece Jennifer Gilchrist (Keith) of Hoover, AL; his great-nieces, Brittany Beard and Natalie Beard; his cousin Betty Caudill of Ashland, KY; his brother Jeff Welch of Minneola, FL; his friend Linda Allen of Ashland, KY.; and also, Baby Ann Irvin, Reginald Irvin, Lindsey Irvin, Tia Irvin, Erica Irvin, Ke'Laura Irvin, Anaysia Irvin, Drayden Dobbson and Trey Irvin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cornerstone Hospice, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America or Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
