He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wesley and Mary Belle Salyers Wheeler; his wife Mae Dillon Wheeler; his son Michael Franklin Wheeler; and his sister Betty Wilder.
He is survived by: his children, Kathy Hughes of Ashland, Missy Doyle (Randy) of Benton Harbor, Mich., Thomas Wheeler (Karen) of Catlettsburg and Jeremy Wheeler of Ashland; his brother Walter Wheeler (Camille) of North Port, FL; his grandchildren, Candice Hutchinson (Chris), Christi Robinson, Shanda Kibler (Patrick), Jessica Koss (Jeffery), Caleb Wheeler, Megan Wheeler, Titus Wheeler and Levi Wheeler; and his great grandchildren, Brayden Young, Brody Young, Ava Koss, Jeffery Lee Koss, Jr., Aria Robinson, Fiona Hutchinson, Waylon Kibler and Sophie Kibler.
