He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Johnson Sr. and Blanche Crosby Johnson; and his siblings, Walter Johnson Jr., Albert Johnson, James E. Johnson, Sidney Johnson and Connie Johnson Reed.

He is survived by: his wife Doris Troxler Johnson of Flatwoods, KY; his children, Jay Johnson (Elaine) of Charlotte, NC, Charles Jerome Johnson (Amber) of Chicago, IL, Jaclyn McGranahan-Fuson (Zack) of Louisville, KY, Jeremy Johnson (Melissa) of Wheelersburg, OH, Ryan Johnson (Chrissy) and Stacey Johnson (Kylie) of South Point, OH.; his stepchildren, Latonda Travis Jackson of Fayetteville, NC, Timothy Jackson Jr., Andre Jackson (Jakki) of Ashland, KY, Thomas Troxler of San Antonio, TX and Zachary Farrow (Jillian) of Flatwoods, KY.; and his siblings, Charles Johnson of San Diego, CA, Eleanor Johnson of Ashland, KY. and Francis Fisher of Ashland, KY..

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 27th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Christ Temple Church (2601 Lexington Ave, Ashland, KY 41101). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
