He was predeceased by: his parents, Larry Gilbert and Nancy Scarberry Gilbert. He is survived by: his wife Paula Trimble Freeman Gilbert; his daughters, Kylie Pinkerton (Stephen) of Huntington, WV and Brandi Gilbert of Catlettsburg; his stepdaughter Katherine (Phillip); his aunts and uncles, Ashland and Cody Ramey of Parkersburg, WV; his granddaughters, Aleigha, Emilee and Rylee; his great grandchild Stetson Wyatte; his brothers, Charlie Sowards (Michelle) of Newport, TN, Jerry Sowards (Susie) of Wayne, WV and Robert Mallory of Hudson, FL; and his close friends, Kay Cremeans and Debbie Wheeler.

Donations may be made to the funeral home to help defer burial expenses.
