He was predeceased by: his parents, John Murer, Sr. and Vittoria Ganz Murer; his wife Jean Hyland Murer; his son-in-law Gerard Hogg; and his sisters, Renata Hedrick (Louis), Ines Zasadny (Russell) and Laura Willis (Gary).

He is survived by: his children, John Murer (Breanna) of Columbus, Ohio and Diana Hogg of Beckley; his grandchildren, Luke, Jake, Sophia Hogg, Makenna and Madelyn Murer; and his great grandchildren, Savannah and Cameron Hogg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic School, 932 Winchester Avenue, Ashland, KY 41101.
