He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Stephens and Clara Stephens; and his brothers, Sonny Stephens and Jim Stephens. He is survived by: his wife Sandee Smith Stephens; his children, John Paul Stephens, Jr. (Tammy) of Richmond, VA, Adam Stephens (Catherine) of Lexington, KY, Noah Stephens (Ling) of Texas, Jeff Klaiber (Natalie) of Mechanicsville, VA, Martha Stephens of Minnesota, Beth Osborn (Gene) of Bellefonte, KY and Shannon Hart (Timothy) of Ashland, KY.; his siblings, Phillip, Steve Stephens of Flatwoods, KY, Tom Stephens (Linda) of Russell, KY and Ann Grizzle of Russell, KY; and his grandchildren, Justin Butler, Brady Keeran, Lydia Klaiber, Grace Osborn, John Paul Stephens III, Charlotte Stephens, Robert Stephens and Samuel Stephens.
