He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin A. Baer and Mildred Curry Baer; his daughter Robin Efta; his grandson Dale Jordan Jr.; and his close friend Sue Jordan.

He is survived by: his children, Larry Joe Baer II (Diana) of Ashland, Tonya Phillips (Billy) of Ashland and Kari Hunholz (Buddy) of Lake Worth, FL; his siblings, Tony Baer (Carolyn) of Ashland, Elizabeth Hall of Ashland and Sharon Castledine (Ed) of Nampa, ID; his grandchildren, Carrie Baer McAlister, Whitney Phillips, Tyler Phillips, Hilary Efta Brown, Quincy Efta, Joey Efta, Alexi Hunholz and Zach Hunholz; and his great grandchildren, Max McAlister, Ava Jo McAlister, Beckham McAlister and Mila Phillips.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ashland Elks, Children's Christmas Fund, 900 Carter Ave. Ashland, KY 41101.
