He was predeceased by: his parents, James Robert Qualls, Sr. and Betty Jean Smeltzer Qualls; and his brothers, Gregory Alan Qualls and James Robert Qualls, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Charlene Boyd Qualls of Ashland; his children, Michael Curtis Qualls II (Dana) of Greenup, Kentucky and Stephanie Qualls Jordan (Spanky) of Ashland; his siblings, Timothy Brian Qualls (Linda) of Pedro, Ohio, Carmen "Sis" Marie Hankins (Anthony) of Ashland and Kimberly Jean Jones (Billie) of Kitts Hill, Ohio.; his granddaughters, Carlie Knipp (Robert) of Ashland and Cambrie Jordan of Ashland; his great grandchildren, Owen Waugh and Lincoln Michael Knipp; and his pet Odie.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Steen Funeral Homes - Central Ave Chapel (1501 Central Ave, Ashland, KY 41101). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CornerStone Methodist Church, Community Hospice, or the American Red Cross. The family has chosen to send donations to American Red CrossDonate Now (https://www.redcross.org).
