He was predeceased by: his parents, Ollie Roop and Betty Sparks Roop; his brothers, Jim Ray Roop and Larry Hazlett; and his son-in-law Everett Akers.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Ann Cumpston Roop; his mother-in-law Edna Cumpston; his children, Amanda Rice, Amy Rice (Shane Dennis), Rhonda Roop Kennedy, Danielle Roop, Julie Roop Carpenter and Adam Roop; his brothers, Ollie Roop (Cheryl), Rick Roop (Brenda) and Eddie Sparks; and his great grandchild Adalynn Grace Hughes. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel (3409 13th St, Ashland, KY 41102).
