He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert D. "Bob" Burns and Charlotte Burns (Fidler); and his sister Virginia "Ginny" Burns. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Burns (Thacker); his daughter Laura Ann Burns; his stepchildren, Amy Adkins and Andy Adkins of Catlettsburg; and his cousins, Robin Fidler and Brenda Baker.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Ashland Cemetery (1518 Belmont St, Ashland, KY 41101).
