He is survived by: his wife Tomie Hyer Thompson of Ashland; his son Colton Thompson of Flatwoods; his siblings, Mark Henderson Thompson of Lexington and Susan Cora Stapleton (Chuck) of Ashland; his nephews, Sean Stapleton and David Stapleton (Alex); and his granddaughter Della. He is also survived by many cousins, friends.
