He was predeceased by: his parents, Amos E. Lyons and Eloise Callihan Lyons; his wife Sue Kersey Lyons; and his siblings, George Lyons, John Lyons, James Lyons, Carol Jacobs, Mary Muntz and Marilyn King.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kathy Dixon (Leonard) and Stephanie Smith (Michael Hale); his brother Ray Lyons (Susie); his grandchildren, Koty Buck (Lauren), Shelby Rask (Markus), Stephen Koo, Makenna Sparks (Jimmy), Jordan Chaffin (Shane), Alex Dixon (Anna) and Morgan Colley; and his great grandchildren, Chloe, Kylee, Emily, Jose, Caspian, Caleia, Dillon, Jemma, Parker, Charlie, Clifford, Easton, Kylin, Tamlyn, Aylee and Slade.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Steen Funeral Homes - Central Ave Chapel (1501 Central Ave, Ashland, KY 41101). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Contributions in Steve's memory may be made to Ashland Grace Church of the Nazarene or the Alzheimer's Association. The family has chosen to send donations to Alzheimer's Association of Greater Kentucky and IndianaDonate Now (https://www.alz.org).
