It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roy David Van Meter of Auburn, Kentucky, who passed away on June 3, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Washington Van Meter and Ruth Thelma Van Meter (Upton); his wife Brenda Sue Van Meter; and his sisters, Frances Glasscock, Mary Jo Bray, Martha Johnson and Stella Young.
He is survived by: his children, Travis Van Meter (Brittany) of Booneville, Gary Dewayne Doepel of Auburn, Christy Doepel of Russellville and Tracey Sadler (Shane) of Bowling Green, KY; his brother Tony Glen Van Meter of Auburn; his grandsons, Tyler Doepel, Weston Van Meter and Zane Van Meter; and his great grandchildren, Rayne Doepel, Anakin Doepel and Gracelyn Van Meter.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday, June 8th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Young Funeral Home Auburn Chapel (213 Spring St, Auburn, KY 42206). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
