It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roy David Van Meter of Auburn, Kentucky, who passed away on June 3, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Washington Van Meter and Ruth Thelma Van Meter (Upton); his wife Brenda Sue Van Meter; and his sisters, Frances Glasscock, Mary Jo Bray, Martha Johnson and Stella Young.
He is survived by: his children, Travis Van Meter (Brittany) of Booneville, Gary Dewayne Doepel of Auburn, Christy Doepel of Russellville and Tracey Sadler (Shane) of Bowling Green, KY; his brother Tony Glen Van Meter of Auburn; his grandsons, Tyler Doepel, Weston Van Meter and Zane Van Meter; and his great grandchildren, Rayne Doepel, Anakin Doepel and Gracelyn Van Meter.
