She was predeceased by : her parents, Richard Smith and Laura Ellen Riley Smith; and her brother Sam Smith. She is survived by : her husband Leaman Merida; her children, Rodney Merida and Tonya Jackson (Ronnie); her sisters, Janice Warren (Walt) and Georgia Smith (Eddie); her grandchildren, Laura Fayth Disney (Logan), Ronnie Austin Jackson, Erika, Rodney Hart Merida and Dakota Merida; her great grandchildren, Lincoln Disney and Caleb Austin Jackson; and her sister-in-law Peggy Smith. She is also survived by family members and friends.

A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of the Knox Funeral Home (325 Knox St, Barbourville, KY 40906).
