He was predeceased by : his parents, Peachie Mae Hurt and Walker Dudley Montgomery; and his siblings, Ernest L. Montgomery, Betty M. Slater and Dr. Patricia S. Montgomery.

He is survived by : his wife Beverly Phillips Montgomery; his children, Alex Montgomery (Amy), Susan Montgomery McDowell, Jeff Wilson (Sonia) and Tammy Stokes (Mark); his sisters, Faye M. Wilson (Henry) and Jo Ann Lanham; his grandchildren, Loran Wilson, Hannah Wilson, Kiley Witt, Sarah Stokes, Andrew Stokes, Kelsey Cunningham, Thomas Montgomery and Matthew Montgomery; and his great grandchild Kate Todd. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Donations are suggested to Gideons International or the Loretto Living Center at Loretto Motherhouse.
