He was predeceased by: his parents, Roscoe Brown Brothers and Margaret Ellen Case Brothers; his brother Larry Wayne Brothers; and his son James "Peewee". He is survived by: his wife Linda Mitchell Brothers; his daughters, Lisa Carrico and Laura Anderson (Stan); his grandchildren, James Brothers III (Kristen), Brad Carrico (Rachel), Tom Brothers (Kayla), Cody Carrico (Brittany), Alyssa Berry (Tanner), Maggie Anderson, Gretchen Anderson, Nathaniel Anderson and Clayton Anderson; his great grandchildren, Eleanor, Eliza Brothers, Garrett, Everett, Gracelynn, Barrett Brothers, Skylar, Kayden and Zoey Carrico; and his sisters, Joyce Allen (Jackie) and Diane Christy (Roger). He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may go to the American Lung Association in honor of his son, Peewee.
