John Winston Roby Sr. Obituary

We announce the death of John Winston Roby Sr. of Bardstown, Kentucky, who passed away on September 29, 2026, at the age of 81. John Winston will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Earl and Mary Elizabeth Abell Roby; and his brothers, Charles Roby and Jim Bill Roby. He is survived by: his wife Linda Monin Roby; his sons, John W. Roby, Jr. (Kelly) and Sean Roby (Margaret); his grandchildren, Cambron Roby, Lauren Moore (Jackson), Ethan Roby (McKenna), Campbell Hood (Adam) and Ainsley Roby; and his great grandchild Roman Roby.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. A prayer will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home and Cremation Services (1475 New Shepherdsville Rd, Bardstown, KY 40004). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Basilica of Saint Joseph Proto-Cathedral (310 W Stephen Foster Ave, Bardstown, KY 40004).

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the WHAS Crusade for Children.
