He was predeceased by : his parents, Ivo Johnson and Libby Johnson (Johnson); his former life partner Judy Richardson Johnson; and his siblings, Patricia Clark and Kenny Johnson.

He is survived by : his partner Abbie Hames; his siblings, Rosaline Livers, Billy Johnson and Robert Johnson (Kathryn); his sister-in-law Joanne Johnson; and his nieces and nephews, Fay Zimlich, Nathan Kleban and Sarah Ficke.

Because of his love for animals, especially cats, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Nelson County in his memory.
