He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Vessells and Mary Cravens Vessells; his wife Mary Aline Lucas Vessells; and his siblings, Louise Lee, William Guthrie Vessells and Kermit Vessells.
He is survived by: his sons, Joseph Christopher Vessells of Bardstown and Michael Preston Vessells (Carrie) of Bardstown; and his sister Irene Adams (Roy) of Shepherdsville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
