The memory of Matt Kane of Bardstown, Kentucky, born in Gander, Newfoundland, who passed away on April 7, 2026 at the age of 83, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his wife Claire Daley Kane; his parents, Theresa Kane and Albert Kane; and his siblings, Kathleen Cornish, Pauline Kane, Leo Kane, Pat Kate and Danny Kane.

He is survived by: his brothers, Jimmy Kane and Brian Kane; his stepchildren, Geoffrey MacDonald, Paul MacDonald, Heather Woodford and Anne Marie Broussard; and his close friend Jennifer Burba.

“I remember Matt Kane when he was a priest in Windsor, Newfoundland , Canada . I was around 10-11 and it was the early 1970’s , maybe 1973/4. I still remember the sound of his voice some 53 years later ! I remember his gentleness , and friendliness manner to myself and my classmates.
